Description
Toyota Soarer Z20 Exterior 3D Scan Dataset
Source vehicle
Toyota Soarer Z20 Coupe
This dataset contains exterior surface geometry captured from a Toyota Soarer Z20. The scan was produced during development work and is intended as a dimensional reference for designers, engineers and digital artists working with the Z20 platform.
The dataset provides exterior body surface geometry suitable for design work, reverse engineering and digital modelling workflows.
Dataset overview
The dataset contains a full exterior vehicle scan supplied as an STL mesh.
The scan captures the exterior body surfaces of the vehicle and provides reference geometry for the overall proportions and body lines of the Z20 chassis.
The model is aligned to the XYZ axis, allowing immediate import into CAD software environments such as Fusion 360 and other modelling or engineering software.
Vehicle configuration
The vehicle scanned was a Toyota Soarer Z20.
At the time of scanning the vehicle was fitted with custom aftermarket wing mirrors.
These mirrors were only loosely scanned for general reference, and parts of the mirror assemblies may appear incomplete or partially missing in the mesh. The mirrors were not a focus of the scan and are not intended to be used as accurate reference geometry.
Data specifications
Mesh density
Full vehicle mesh
Approximately 10 million polygons
Dimensional resolution
Approximately ±0.5 mm
File format
STL mesh
Model orientation
The dataset is aligned to the XYZ coordinate system, allowing direct import into CAD software such as Fusion 360 and other engineering environments.
Scan coverage
The dataset includes:
-
Front bumper area
-
Front wings
-
Bonnet
-
Doors
-
Roof
-
Rear quarter panels
-
Rear bumper
-
Boot area
-
Exterior glass areas
The scan represents the exterior surfaces of the vehicle and is intended for reference modelling and design work.
Mesh condition
The mesh has been processed to remove most scanning artefacts while maintaining the original captured surface geometry.
Some areas may display minor surface noise caused by scan overlap or lighting variation during capture. These areas are cosmetic and do not affect the dataset when used as reference geometry.
The surfaces have not been artificially smoothed, preserving the original captured form.
Typical applications
This dataset is intended for workflows such as:
• Development of exterior components and body kits
• Designing bumpers, lips and exterior panels
• Reverse engineering vehicle surfaces in CAD
• Digital modelling for visualisation, games or rendering
• Studying the proportions and design language of the Z20 chassis
File delivery
After purchase, a download link will be sent via email providing access to the dataset.
The download link is single-use and can only be downloaded once, helping reduce the risk of the files being redistributed.
If the original purchaser loses their files, they may request a replacement download link at any time.
Usage conditions
The purchaser may use the dataset for internal design work and commercial product development.
However:
• The scan files themselves cannot be redistributed
• The dataset may not be resold, shared or transferred
• Any portion of the scan data may not be published or redistributed
Products developed using this dataset may be manufactured and sold.
