OEM Saab boot spoiler – Part Number 46 73 331
This dataset contains the complete scanned geometry of an OEM Saab boot spoiler, originally removed from a 2002 Saab 9-3 OG 5dr SE.
The spoiler is used across 3dr and 5dr Saab 900 NG and 9-3 OG models, excluding Viggen and Aero models.
Unlike scans captured on the vehicle, the spoiler was completely removed prior to scanning. This allowed the entire part to be captured, including the visible upper surfaces, underside, edges and mounting features.
Dataset overview
The dataset is supplied as STL mesh data and contains approximately 2 million polygons.
The spoiler itself is aligned to the XYZ axis for easier use within CAD environments. Please note that this alignment relates to the spoiler as an individual component and does not represent its installed XYZ position on the vehicle.
The geometry is intended as an accurate development reference for creating aftermarket aero, custom spoilers, replacement components and other designs based around the original Saab part.

Scan coverage
The dataset includes:
- Complete visible upper spoiler geometry
- Complete underside geometry
- Outer edges and perimeter geometry
- OEM mounting features
- Mounting stud locations
- Original surface and form detail
As the spoiler was scanned completely removed from the vehicle, the dataset provides all-round reference geometry rather than only the externally visible surfaces.
Mounting stud scan note
The left-most mounting stud was lost during scanning and is not fully present within the final mesh.
The base position of the missing stud remains clearly visible, including a small portion of the stud protruding from the spoiler. The other two mounting studs have been successfully captured and provide suitable reference geometry.
Because of this, the missing stud can be easily recreated in CAD using the remaining studs for geometry reference and the visible base to establish its correct location.
No other areas of the spoiler are known to be missing from the dataset.
Mesh condition
The mesh has been cleaned to remove scanning artefacts whilst retaining important captured surface and component detail.
No artificial smoothing has been applied, helping preserve the original form of the OEM spoiler as captured.
No areas have been deliberately removed, reconstructed or altered from the original scan geometry.

• Designing spoiler extensions and additional flicks
• Developing alternative aftermarket spoiler designs
• Reproducing or reinterpreting the original spoiler geometry

Free Saab community release
This dataset is being released completely free by SCHURKEE as a way of giving back to the Saab community and hopefully encouraging more people to design and manufacture aftermarket parts for these cars.
Aftermarket development for the 900 NG and 9-3 OG is relatively niche, so rather than keeping this scan behind a paywall, we would rather make the geometry accessible to other owners, designers and builders who want to create something with it.
Whether that means designing a subtle OEM+ spoiler extension, completely new aero or using the factory mounting geometry as the starting point for something different, the aim is simply to make development for these cars easier and hopefully see some more interesting Saab parts come out of it.

We would also appreciate anyone using the scan sharing their finished projects with us. We would like to build a customer/community gallery showing what people have managed to create using SCHURKEE scan data and hopefully give other enthusiasts and builders some inspiration.
Sharing your finished project with us is completely optional and is not a condition of using the dataset.
